David Rosenberg founded Rosenberg Research in January 2020 after an illustrious, three-decade career on Wall Street and Bay Street as an economist and market strategist.
Brendan Livingstone is Rosenberg Research’s Director of Macro Strategy, with his primary focus on forecasting market trends and generating actionable investment ideas. Brendan spearheads the Rosenberg Research ‘Strategizer’ publication.
Before joining Rosenberg Research, Brendan worked for David Rosenberg at Gluskin Sheff for three years and helped support the firm’s top-down investment process. Prior to that, he was a member of the strategy and economics team at Macquarie Securities Group.
Brendan received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University and is a CFA charterholder.
Krishen Rangasamy is a Senior Global Economist specializing in international economic developments and their implications for financial and currency markets. Krishen spent over twelve years as a macro specialist at two major Canadian banks where he advised fixed-income, equity, and foreign exchange trading desks, and helped lead the economic research and forecasting divisions teams. Before going into investment banking, Krishen worked for four years in the energy industry in Western Canada where he was involved in econometric modeling and risk management.
Krishen received his Master of Arts degree in Economics from Simon Fraser University.
Marius Jongstra is a Senior Economist & Strategist at Rosenberg Research. Marius is instrumental in building and maintaining the firm’s financial models and co-authors the monthly Strategizer publication. He also plays a pivotal role in the daily research and construction of our internal market indices.
Prior to joining the firm, Marius spent more than three years at Gluskin Sheff + Associates Inc., during which time he supported David Rosenberg in the research and publication of Breakfast with Dave, as well as helping the firm’s top-down investment approach.
Marius holds a Master of Finance degree from Queen’s University as well as an H.B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University. He also has completed both Level I and II of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.
Julia Wendling is an Economist at Rosenberg Research and regularly contributes macroeconomic research for the firm’s flagship product, Breakfast with Dave, as well as Special Reports. She is also responsible for assisting with the editing process and publication of Rosenberg Research’s suite of products, along with mentoring junior members of the team.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Julia worked as a financial analyst in CBRE’s residential real estate investment group, where she acquired in-depth knowledge of Canada’s commercial real estate market.
Julia holds a M.A. in Economics from the University of Toronto as well as a B.A. in Economics and a Certificate in Business from Queen’s University. She has also completed the Canadian Securities Course.
Andrew Hill is a Research Analyst at Rosenberg Research. He assists with economic and financial research projects through data and statistical analysis.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Andrew worked as a data analyst for CIBC where he focused on modeling and forecasting techniques for complex risk profiles.
Andrew holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Toronto as well as a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Management Science from Ryerson University.
Atakan Bakiskan is a Junior Economist at Rosenberg Research. He assists in the creation of presentations for Dave and in the daily publication processes, including research, writing in-depth reports, editing, fact-checking and statistical analysis.
Atakan graduated with a Master of Arts in Economics at the University of Toronto in 2022, and a Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto in the Economics and Mathematics Specialist program in 2021. While in university, Atakan was a Teaching Assistant at University of Toronto for several advanced economics courses including Advanced Macroeconomic Theory and Money, Banking and Financial Markets.
Keith Edwards is a Technical Analysis Consultant to Rosenberg Research.
Keith’s career began as an independent technical analyst in 1976. He subsequently was hired in 1987 as a Technical Analyst at the Nesbitt Thomson investment bank in Toronto. Keith moved from there to rival Burns Fry in 1989, which through a merger became BMO Nesbitt Burns five years hence, where he remained until retiring in 2009.
Keith is a founding member of the American Association of Professional Technical Analysts.
Jacob Rosenberg is Rosenberg Research’s Vice-President of Client Relations & Operations. He oversees the firm’s client satisfaction initiative and manages all of David’s online presentations, webcasts, and interviews.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Jacob worked in the video game industry as an audio designer as well as in several client relations related roles across industries.
Jacob holds an MMus in Music Technology and Digital Media from the University of Toronto and a B.A. in Economics from McGill University.
Keith Godinho is Rosenberg Research’s Vice-President of Research Sales with a primary focus on the firm’s sales and renewals process and provides information related to all the firm’s product offerings.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Keith worked with David Rosenberg and his Research Team at Gluskin Sheff for nine years as a Compliance Officer reviewing Breakfast with Dave and was responsible for monitoring compliance and risk at the fund and client portfolio level. Prior to that, he was a Manager, Compliance and Analytics at State Street overseeing portfolio compliance across various hedge funds and pension funds with a focus on Credit and Derivatives risk monitoring.
Keith received a Bachelor of Accounting & Finance degree from Ryerson University.
Kaire Hartley is the firm’s Administrative Director and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm, such as overseeing all incoming and outgoing communications and acting as the gatekeeper for internal and external contacts, including vendors and clients.
Kaire joins Rosenberg Research from Gluskin Sheff + Associates, wherein her latest role, she was the coordinator for the Wealth Planning team. Prior to that, she worked as an Executive Assistant for David Rosenberg in his role as the Chief Economist & Strategist at Gluskin Sheff.
Kaire brings with her over 25 years of administrative experience and has worked in health care, legal and financial services after completing her studies in Health Sciences at George Brown College in Toronto.
Dinesh Vel is the Director of Technology for Rosenberg Research. Dinesh is responsible for handling the firm’s data analytics and technological requirements.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Dinesh was a Business Solutions Manager at RBC where he streamlined many of the firm’s regulatory reporting processes. He also worked as a Program Manager at Gluskin Sheff + Associates Inc. where he led and oversaw the operations of the Investment Technology team.
Dinesh holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Actuarial Science and Statistics from the University of Waterloo.
Rachael Zbar is a Corporate Director overseeing the company’s legal, financial, and HR affairs.
She is a former Social Worker and has a history of extensive volunteer service in the local community.
Rachael holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto.
Vandhana Parthasarathy is a Data Analyst with a focus on sales enablement and systems optimization.
Before joining Rosenberg Research, Vandhana worked as a software engineer at Infosys for three years, where she focused on Mainframe development projects.
Vandhana holds an MBA in Operations Management from Brock University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from Anna University.
Sofia Dorrell is a Marketing Associate with Rosenberg Research. She is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of marketing strategies, social media campaigns, and securing visibility and growth for the firm.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, she worked as a social media manager, literary editor, arts and culture researcher, and brand management specialist. She has over 5 year’s experience delivering quality insights and analyses for businesses in the Toronto area.
Ryan Janzen is a Client Relations Representative at Rosenberg Research. In his role, Ryan provides exceptional client service with responsibility for implementing sales and growth initiatives for the firm.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Ryan worked across various roles in financial services, sales, customer service and digital marketing. Most recently, Ryan was a Client Advisor in personal banking, where he specialized in developing strong client relationships through expert product knowledge and strong collaboration with colleagues across business units.
Ryan has received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing from the University of Delaware. Currently, he is a CFA Level 1 Candidate and has completed the CSC and CPH courses.
Adam Sharvit is a Client Relations Representative at Rosenberg Research, with a focus on client service, sales, and renewals within the firm.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Adam worked in the Investor Relations field at Hybrid Financial and Virtus Advisory Group, where he gained significant experience working with financial advisors, mutual fund and hedge fund managers, and high net worth individuals. Adam is focused on liaising with clients and ensuring that questions and issues are addressed promptly.
Adam received a Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University in the field of Accounting & Finance with a primary focus on the financial sector.
James (Jamie) Bergin is the Management Consultant for Rosenberg Research. As a proven business builder and leader in capital markets, Jamie provides advice relating to the day-to-day operational strategy through to the prioritization of growth initiatives.
Jamie has over 30 years of experience in Capital Markets, holding senior sales positions on both the buy side and sell side of the market. He is also the Founder and CIO of Hillhead Capital, Inc. and sits on the Board of Defiance Silver, where he currently serves on several of the committees.
Jamie received an Honors Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master of Business Administration from Strayer University (JWMI).
Jeff Burchell is a Senior Advisor to Rosenberg Research. Jeff provides the firm with advice on matters relating to business development.
Jeff has more than two decades of experience in the investment management industry. His roles have included Co-CIO of a multi-billion dollar asset manager and portfolio manager of a diverse range of North America- focused equity investment strategies and products spanning multiple asset classes, including risk arbitrage, market neutral and long-short equity, and long only portfolios.
Jeff has served as an independent director on the boards of two public companies. His board work has overseen executive transitions, raising of public capital and IPO management. In addition, he has both chaired and served on audit, governance and compensation committees.
He received an MBA and Law degree from Dalhousie University and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University. He has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
